Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Demonstrated soldering skills per IPC-610 Class III.
• Must be able to work using a microscope.
• Control costs within the department.
• Ensure that all documentation is available and organized.
• Report any material or chemical needed for the vapor degreaser equipment to supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer.
• Support and assist other assembly department when needed.
• Be present for meetings when the SMT Supervisor is planning the schedule.
• Provide daily Excel spread sheet/e-mail jobs status reports.
• Remove all finished kits and return them to Stockroom.
• Report any special tooling or fixture needs to Manufacturing Engineer or SMT Supervisor.
• Operation of the cleaning equipment (Vapor Degreaser) to clean the assembled boards.
• Record daily, monthly, quarterly, 6 month and yearly maintenance performed to the SMT equipment in their log book.
• Ensure the work is done efficiently and effectively.
• Communicate all material shortages affecting assemblies to Stockroom Clerk and SMT Supervisor.
• During job, communicate progress to SMT Supervisor.
• Communicate with SMT machine operators and SMT Supervisor any process indicator from pick and place that affect the assembly process.
• Complete assigned projects, as needed.
• Maintain close security and protect the company’s assets from damage, theft, or misuse.
• Ensure that the procedures are followed within the SMT department.
• Ensure that the policies and practices of the employee handbook are followed within the department.
• Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.

Certificates: Certification in any of the following:
• J-STD-001 Newest revision (preferred).
• IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies. Newest revision (preferred).
• ESD control.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school preferred; and two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents written in English such as work instructions, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must be able to work independently.

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be required to sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; excellent hand/eye coordination using tweezers while working under a microscope is a must; lift and move objects weight up to 30 lbs; effective English verbal communication.
