Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Administer new hire information, remind supervisors of anniversary dates and issue payroll schedule annually.
• Working knowledge of employment laws, OSHA standards and other applicable regulations.
• Set up Human Resources bulleting board and ensure that board is updated on labor laws regularly.
• Intake and respond to employee complaints.
• Work with employee’s direct manager to counsel employees on performance as necessary.
• Process and monitor FMLA/CFRA/Disability leave of absences.
• Update employee files, online databases and reports as needed. Maintain employee files and records in accordance with California and Federal laws.
• Update organization chart.
• Act as liaison between employees and health plans when necessary.
• Work with managers to generate new job description and review existing job descriptions, as needed.
• Place employment ads and review resumes received, as needed.
• Reconcile and pay monthly benefit invoices.
• Schedule and set up company functions and gatherings including venue choice, food service, etc. (i.e., annual Holiday party).
• Ensure that employee files are complete and consistent.
• Coordinate all employee reviews.
• Coordinate interviewing process for potential employees.
• Administer the implementation of company’s group benefit programs. Process employee enrollments and terminations. Work with Broker to ensure enrollments are completed.
• Shop and review new potential benefits with CFO and Insurance Broker.
• Facilitate and manage worker’s compensation program.
• Run monthly reports for ACA, Turnover, Benefits and other applicable functions.
• Must be a self-starter, proactive and able to take the lead on tasks with minimal direction.
• Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and ethical behavior
• Able to serve as a back-up for the Payroll and Accounting Clerk.
• Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.

Requirements:
• 5 years of experience in a HR Generalist role or equivalent role in HR.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, HR or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering company preferred but not required.
• ADP or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with companies over 50 employees.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
• High emotional intelligence & ability to handle sensitive employee situations with professionalism and care
• Strong communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to communicate complex ideas and business concepts effectively and practically. Expert written (emails, policies, procedures, memos) and verbal communication (training, presentations, handling sensitive employee issues).
• Familiarity with current leading practices related to talent management and organizational effectiveness techniques.
• Familiarity with employment and workplace safety laws and compliance requirements.
