Responsible for inspecting boards, and wiring to IPC-A-610, Class 2 & 3. Provide backup support for mechanical inspection using mechanical tools such as calipers, height gages, optical comparator, pin gages, etc. This position requires that the individual have self-initiative, and be a self-starter requiring little supervision, and guidance.

Job description details:

Primary Function: Perform inspection to meet IPC-A-610, Class 2 & 3 hand soldering as well as surface mount components. Inspect mechanical hardware using drawings and specifications. Equipment experience needed: 5 years minimum with IPC-A-610 assemblies, and mechanical inspection using calipers, gages, and other mechanical instruments.

Ideal candidate: Have current IPC-A-610 soldering and IPC-A 620 certificates with at least 5 years experience inspecting soldered assemblies, and at least 5 years experience using mechanical measuring tools.

• Perform all electrical inspections to IPC-A-610 or mechanical inspections to
released drawings, procedures and specifications.
• Having an active current certification in IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 would be a plus.
• Resolve discrepancies and communicate corrective actions per non-conforming
material procedures.
• Work closely with engineering and other departments to resolve concerns.
• Complete the required inspection records, reports and transactions.
• Enter information in data entry spreadsheets for data collection purposes.
• Perform first-article inspections using the AS 9102 form.
• Determine if product is non-conforming and document any non-conformances per
company procedures.
• Follow all internal AS 9100 procedures.
• Ensure all products manufactured and delivered meet the customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance to required ESD manufacturing environments including facility
audits and employee training.

• Knowledge of space requirements for loaded and bare printed circuit boards.
Strong mechanical background-calipers, height gages, pin gages, CMM, optical
comparator, etc. Able to perform first articles. IPC-A-610 experience or other
soldering experience such as DOD-STD-2000. AS9100 and Space related Quality
• Experience with SMT soldering and related equipment a plus. Must be able to
read and interpret drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
• Basic Microsoft computer skills including email, word and excel.
• Ability to work under demanding delivery schedules to meet company and
customer commitments.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to effectively communicate effectively with internal customers.
• Knowledge of EPICOR MRP system a PLUS.
• Knowledge or certification of the J-STD Space Addendum a plus.

Must be a US Person and be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.
