Aethercomm Model Number TR 0.225-0.450-150 is a high power, transmit/receive (TR) module that operates from 225 MHz to 450 MHz minimum and is packaged in an enclosure that is optimized for state of the art military radio applications. This UHF power amplifier is employed in communication systems where high power, high efficiency and high linearity is required. It transmits all the legacy waveforms and the newer WNW and SRW waveforms. All modes of WNW and SRW. The power added efficiency of this amplifier is typically 50 percent. Typical output power is 50 watts to 150 watts but it is controllable in 0.5 dB increments or decrements depending on the band of operation and the waveform employed. Power gain is ~20 to 25 dB. Input VSWR is 2.0:1 maximum. The receive function in this module is passive and offers a typical loss of <1 dB. Tx/Rx and Rx/Tx switching times are extremely fast at 25 uSecs maximum. Standard features include reverse polarity protection, output short and open circuit protection, and over/under voltage protection. All functionality is controlled via an onboard FPGA. All BIT/FIT signals are controlled and routed through this assembly to the host exciter. Temperature is monitored and reported by this module along with many other health parameters. This RF amplifier operates from a MIL-STD-1275D DC power supply. There is an ALC function on this module that ensures excellent power flatness across the full band. This unit operates from -40ºC to +85ºC base plate temperature. The thermal management system is designed into the sides of this broadband, rugged and robust module.

This high power TR assembly is employed in high shock and vibration environments. It is designed and tested to withstand MIL-STD-810 vehicular requirements. Standard housing size is approximately 2.52(w) by 9.22(l) by 6.85(h) inches. There are two power amplifiers per assembly for simultaneity requirements. All RF Ports are TNC female. DC and logic connections are accessible via mil- circular connectors. There are programming ports and many other features that are not shown. Typical test data appears on page two of this data sheet at room temperature.
