Aethercomm Model Number TR 0.570-2.500-380 is a high power, quad band conversion, transmit, receive and signal distribution subsystem. It is packaged in an enclosure that is optimized for state of the art communications or electronic warfare systems. There are four High Power RF amplifiers that cover UHF, L Band and S Band. There are five Antenna ports with three designed for use with isolators and one with a TR switch to facilitate transmit and receive in each sub-band. There are six bi-directional MCX receiver exciter RF ports. There is also one broadband transmit and receive port with TR for use with an external signal distribution system to access a Broadband Antenna structure. This GaN broadband TR assembly is designed to be employed in DOD systems where high power, high efficiency and high linearity are required across a huge swath of frequency spectrum. Maximum duty cycle is 85% during transmit. This system is capable of transmitting and receiving any and all waveforms in the specified bands. The power added efficiency at a typical duty cycle of 75% is excellent at 42% with all channels on. The output powers are different per band along with the gains. Input and output VSWR is 2.5:1 maximum. Any and all amplifiers can be used simultaneously if required. Bands are commanded on and off in 100u Secs maximum. Standard features include reverse polarity protection, output short and open circuit protection, and over/under voltage protection. All functionality is controlled via an onboard FPGA. All BIT/FIT signals are controlled and routed through this assembly to the host exciter. Temperature is monitored and reported by this module along with many other health parameters. This system operates on 22- 28 VDC. This GaN broadband transmit receive module operates from -40°C to +85°C base plate temperature. The thermal management system calls for this assembly to be mounted to a heat sink for convective cooling.

This high power TR assembly is employed in high shock and vibration environments. It is designed and tested to withstand MIL-STD-810 vehicular requirements. The housing size is approximately 6.0” X 8.3” X 2.1” and the sub-system weighs 6.25 lbs. DC and logic connections are accessible via DSUB connectors. There are programming ports and many other features that are not shown. Typical transmit test data appears on page two of this data sheet at room temperature.
